1. The applicant must be a student attending either The Department of Information Studies, at the University at Albany, or Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies. Applicants must be engaged in a Library Science track in their respective master’s program. Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in academic librarianship.
2. The applicant must have completed 12 credit hours in the program at the time of application.
Please either complete document using a word processing program, or, print out and use a typewriter. No handwritten applications will be accepted.

a) An essay of 300-500 stating your vision for the future of academic librarianship and their role in that future. If the applicant is pursuing a career in another area of librarianship, please talk about the future of that type of librarianship.
b) Reference letters from two individuals who can address your qualification for this scholarship. One letter must be from a professor in your program.
