{"id":1237,"date":"2015-02-16T12:06:46","date_gmt":"2015-02-16T17:06:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/enyacrl.org\/site\/?p=1237"},"modified":"2015-02-17T09:42:27","modified_gmt":"2015-02-17T14:42:27","slug":"call-for-breakout-session-proposals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.enyacrl.org\/site\/call-for-breakout-session-proposals\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Breakout Session Proposals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Eastern New York Chapter of ACRL (ENY\/ACRL) is pleased to offer a new presentation opportunity for its upcoming Spring Conference, \u201cBuilding Supportive Organizational Cultures in Libraries,\u201d which will be held on\u00a0<strong>Tuesday, May 19, 2015<\/strong>\u00a0at Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to lightning rounds and poster sessions (the official call for which will come in March), this year we are also offering ENY\/ACRL members a chance to submit proposals for our\u00a0<strong>breakout sessions<\/strong>.\u00a0 Breakout sessions should cover 45 minutes, can include 1-2 presenters, and should incorporate a combination of introduction\/presentation and the facilitation of an interactive group discussion.\u00a0 Possible topics could include, but are not limited to: personnel support, professional development and continuing education, staff training, work-life balance, mentoring, tenure, early\/mid\/late-career perspectives, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposals should include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Presenter\u2019s name and position title (If there is more than one presenter, choose one person to be the contact)<\/li>\n<li>Institution<\/li>\n<li>Contact information, including phone number, e-mail, and mailing address<\/li>\n<li>Title of presentation<\/li>\n<li>Summary description of less than 250 words, including ways in which you plan to engage your audience.<\/li>\n<li>Presentation needs (e.g. technology, electricity, space, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submit breakout session proposals to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yu-Hui Chen<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:ychen@albany.edu\">ychen@albany.edu<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"tel:518-442-3586\">518-442-3586<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The deadline for proposals\u00a0 has been extended to <strong>March 2, 2015<\/strong>.
