Here are the slate of candidates for this year’s ENY/ACRL Board Elections. A huge thank you to the candidates for their willingness to serve! We recognize that the past few years have been difficult for all of us, so we’d like to thank you all for your continued support.
Secretary
Christina Huffaker Swendsrud is the Reference Services Librarian for History and Archives at Le Moyne College. She is also a reviewer for the ALA Choice magazine and served as the ENY/ACRL Chapter Secretary during the 2021-2022 year.
Prior to joining Le Moyne College, she was a Reference Librarian and Coordinator of Access Services at Utica College, where she served on a college senate committee as secretary, in addition to the extensive record-keeping and written communication required in her role as a department head. She has also been involved in the creation and responsible for the documentation of several library-wide and library committee planning projects.
Christina is grateful for the learning, professional development, and networking opportunities provided by ENY/ACRL, and would be honored to help document, record, and communicate the Chapter’s activities as Secretary.
Membership Chair
Lauren Puzier is the User Experience Librarian at the University at Albany. Her research interests include incorporating new and emerging technologies in higher education, user-centered and service design, and reference services. Before joining the UAlbany Libraries, she was the Acting Head Librarian for the New York Library at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Lauren has past experience with serving in membership departments and committees for other professional organizations including New York State United Teachers, College Art Association, ACRL/Arts, and the Art Libraries Society of North America.
Vice President/President-Elect
Wendy West is the head of the University Library’s Resource Management Department at the University of Albany. She has worked at the University since 1987. Ms. West holds an M.L.S. from University at Albany and a B.A. in Anthropology from Franklin Pierce University. Her professional service experience includes program planning for American Library Association (ALA) annual preconference events in 2017 and 2018, chairing the State University of New York Librarians Association’s (SUNYLA) 2014 annual conference, Eastern New York ACRL Chapter (ENY/ACRL) Program Chair 2019/2020-2020/2021, various ALA Award Juries, and has served as an ALA/ALCTS mentor.
