Have you been looking for a good way to get involved with ENY/ACRL? We’ll be posting about the various positions that are coming open this Spring.
The Membership Chair is most busy during the renewal season (August-December), but overall your time commitment is fairly light compared to other positions. Almost all the board meetings are virtual, and you can submit your reports ahead of time if you’re unable to attend. Your focus will be on maintaining the database of members. More information below!
Membership Chair
- Elected position
- Serves 2 years
- Time Involved: Quarterly Board meetings, primarily online (about 2 hours each). Face-to-face meeting immediately after the annual conference. Maintains the members database, including processing new members, soliciting renewals, and writes an annual report. During renewal season (August – December) the time commitment is approximately 1 hour a week. For the rest of the year, it is about half that.
- Duties:
- Processes and keeps track of all memberships, including new and renewals, and maintains a current list of members in good standing.
- Staffs the membership table at conferences/events as needed.
- Updates all online forms related to membership.
